What should I read before I add a template?

Read who it messages, what it can spend, and whether any key, password, or address is written in the text.

About 6 minutes. Checked 27 October 2026.

  1. A template is a recipe

Official templates carry instructions, skills and routines. They should not carry logins, history, or the computer itself. See https://x.ai/bot/guides/templates-for-grok-bot

  2. Look for secrets

A key, a token, a password, or a list of email addresses does not belong in a recipe. The Safety Checker on this site flags the obvious shapes. It is not a guarantee.

  3. Look for Ask first

If the text says Allow automatically and never says Ask first, do not add it until you rewrite that line.

  4. Look for a wide listener

Every email, or every file, is a lot of access. Narrow it to a label or a folder.

  5. Add it, then run it once while you watch

The first run is the test. Our library is curated. Community submissions are not published until a person has read them and added them by hand.
