What we collect, and what we do not.

Where your answers live

The 60 statements, the five choice blocks and the twenty-four deeper questions are scored in your own browser, and the individual answers are never stored in a database of ours. They do travel in one place you should know about: your scores, and for the Pro Report your twenty-four answers, are written into the address of your result page so the page can rebuild it. Anything that sees a web address therefore sees them, including our server logs and Google Analytics. Your free result link is meant to be shareable, and the page gives you buttons to share it. Your Pro Report link is the private one: it carries your twenty-four answers, so treat it as yours alone.

What we collect, and when

If you ask for your report by email. We store your first name, the answer you gave to the optional gender question, your email address, your result code, your Solo Style, the time, the browser and device string your browser sends, the page you arrived from, and the country, region and city our host works out from your connection. That record is written to our key-value store at Upstash and to a private Google spreadsheet the owner keeps. A copy of the same record, with your report attached, is emailed to the owner so a person actually sees who asked.

What we use your email for. Sending you your report, and adding you to the Solobility newsletter: occasional notes on tools, news and ideas for people running a business alone, and a reminder to take the test again in about 90 days. We do not pass your address to anyone, and we do not sell it. To stop any future email, reply to one with the word stop, or write to hello@solobility.com. Our emails also carry an unsubscribe header your mail app can use.

If you buy or unlock the Pro Report. Payment is taken by Stripe, which also receives your result code so the payment can be matched to the right report. We never see or store your card number. Stripe holds the payment record under its own privacy policy.

Every visit. Our server sees your IP address and counts requests against it so one address cannot hammer the free endpoints. If you ask for the report by email, one of those counters is keyed on the address you gave, so that address sits in it too. Every counter expires within a day and holds nothing else. Google Analytics is switched on. It sets its own cookies and records the pages visited, which as explained above includes the address of your result page.

Anonymous norms. When you finish, your 6 area scores alone may be added to an anonymous pool so we can show how common a score is. No name, no email, no answers, and nothing that points back to you.

Your own device

Your browser holds up to six small things, all of them on your device: your answers while the test is still in progress, so closing the tab does not lose them; your last result code; your unlock token if you opened the Pro Report; your deeper answers if you took that test; a note that your scores have already gone to the anonymous pool, so they are not counted twice; a note that your result has already been counted in the public tally, so it is not counted twice. Clearing your browser data removes all of them. That storage is read back and used: reopening Solobility sends your saved result code to us in the address of the result page, and downloading either PDF sends the unlock token and, for the Pro Report, your saved answers, because the server needs them to build the file. Nothing else in your browser is read.

Who else sees it

Six services, each with only what it needs. Vercel hosts the site and handles the request. Upstash stores the lead record and the rate-limit counters. Google holds the leads spreadsheet in Drive, and Google Analytics measures page views. Resend sends the email. Stripe takes the payment. We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to advertisers.

How long we keep it

Lead records stay until you ask us to remove them. Rate-limit counters expire within a day. Anonymous score data has nothing in it to delete.

Getting it removed

Write to hello@solobility.com from the address you gave us and say you want your record deleted. We will delete it from the store, the spreadsheet and the owner's mailbox, and reply to confirm. You can also ask what we hold on you and we will send it. You do not have to give a reason.

Children

Solobility is for people running a business. It is not aimed at anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly keep information about them.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, the date below changes with it.
